A1a+ Description:

channel type

  1. Very steep, straight, narrow, cascading, step-pool Streams
  2. Extremely high energy/debris transport
  3. Very coarse Colluvium (defined?)

  • Entrenchment: Entrenched, Ratio < 1.4
  • Water Surface Slope/Gradient: >10%
  • Dominant Substrate Particle Size: Predominantly bedrock
  • Width/Depth Ratio: < 12
  • Sinuosity: < 1.2
