A6a+ Description:

channel type

  1. Entrenched and confined steep, narrow, cascading Streams
  2. High energy/debris transport associated with Depositional soils
  3. Little bed load sediment due to wash and high contribution to annual yield

  • Entrenchment: Entrenched, Ratio < 1.4
  • Water Surface Slope/Gradient: >10%
  • Dominant Substrate Particle Size: Predominantly silt/clay
  • Width/Depth Ratio: < 12
  • Sinuosity: < 1.2
