Valley Type XI

Mississippi system

Delta

Found in river Deltas and tidal flats. Very low slopes, with cohesive sediments and natural levees. Delta areas characterized as elongated, lobate, wave-dominated, or tide-dominated.

Associated with DA and D type channels, and infrequently C and E type channels.
