Exercises to Examine Valley Classification

Valley types are identified through topographic and landform assessment and analysis. In each of the following 6 Valley identification challenges, use the associated image and the previous Valley keys to classify the Valley type I-XI.

Recall that once Valley type is characterized, the dominant Stream types associated with that Valley are listed in the earlier key. Such a listing is based on the experience of Rosgen, and provides a guide to checking Level 1 Stream classification.
